An Official John McAfee Telegram channel was created and began dropping messages, images, and other content on July 20th, 2021. McAfee was declared dead via suicide on June 23rd, 2021. McAfee was awaiting extradition to the United States on several criminal charges related to financial fraud and tax evasion. McAfee claimed multiple times throughout his life that he would never commit suicide and his wife has alleged McAfee was not suicidal and contests the official narrative offered by Spanish authorities.
